I wasn’t even sure I’d have much to shot and fill up a page. But I was wrong.

Four wheelers and their human cargo normally surround Irvine Lake. Dad wearing store bought shorts sipping canned beer while keeping an eye on his fishing pole for any sign of movement. Mom getting the picnic lunch out but not before she chases down her little rug rats that enjoy running and screaming across the parks lush green grass. Not today.

Harley’s parked all in a row filled the dirt parking lot and all around the clear blue waters of Irvine Lake. Spaces were filled until there was no where else to go. Instead of shorts there were faded jeans, leather vests, colors and cold bottles of beer. No rug rats running loose with screaming lungs from hell but well-mannered and schooled children in the ways we know well. Tattoo’s covered arms, legs, tits and asses. Oh yeah I knew this would be different and fun after all.

Walking among the parked Harley’s bikers called out to me to take their picture. Proud of their scoots they labor over night and day. Rode many miles not once in a while but everyday. These were not weekend warriors for sure. There were brothers most patched some not. Others left their patches behind so as to walk among the crowd unseemly unnoticed.

Of course there were vendors selling the usual stuff and bikers spending hard-earned money at these booths. But not everything was for sale displaced in these booths. “Jesus Loves Bikers Too” golden yellow banner stood out among the rest. Tied to an old Harley yellow balloons floated to the end of their string and played in the afternoon wind. Soldiers for Jesus M/C (http://www.soldiersforjesusmc.com) doesn’t have anything to buy instead a free gift awaits those who wish to have it. These kind and gentle bikers offer words of peace though Jesus Christ and his spiritual gospel.

Cadillac Angels tuned into the biker soul as Tony Balbinot strummed his fingers across the strings of his electric guitar. Micky Rae demanded obedience from her Stand Up Bass that stood five inches above her head. Rockin’ and rollin’ together Tony and Micky enlightened us with their sweet harmony filling the summer time afternoon wind with flare. Mastering her skill Micky leaped a top her Stand Up Bass straddling it defining all laws of gravity. Closing performance in a way no one will ever forget.

To my pleasant surprise a wienie bite contest was happenin’. Towering white poles with a mustered hotdog hung from a string quickly assembled to the middle of the green grass arena. Disco from Harley-Davidson and Whizzer of Fullerton (http://www.harleyfullerton.com) sponsor of the Harley Bike Fest, MC’ed the event. Calling to all Harley riders, “Who claims to have the woman with the most magical lips for wienie sucking power?” Harley’s roared into the arena as their male riders claimed to have the female with the mouth that could suck that wienie down like no other bitch around. One after another women took that dog into their mouth biting hard not swallowing any of it down.

It was now time for Billy Gordon & The Blue Rockers to take center stage. Wearing his cool black shades Billy Gordon walked across stage holding the Red, White and Blue American guitar that had refused to die during the Doobie Brothers concert a few months back. Stroking the strings lengthened across the cracked American guitar Billy enabled her to sing. There was no smashing, there was no breaking only rock n’ roll thunder striking the crowd like a bolt of lighting.

After forty five-minutes Billy Gordon & The Blue Rockers called a short break while the tattoo contest took place. Again Disco called out to the biker crowd, “Ladies, ladies who claims to have the tattoo that will win over all the rest?” Five women gathered together in front of the stage. A young chick who looked like she just stepped out of a fairy tale story dropped her jeans to show us all her pretty red heart tattooed on her butt. “What do you suppose it means? Kiss my ass maybe?” She didn’t win.

Sun Flowers colorfully displayed seemed to spurt forth from another young women’s lower belly. She didn’t win either.

An arm thrust here an elbow stuck out there still no winner was to be named. A sister dressed in a red leather mini threw her leg up against Disco’s thigh held up high showing us her ankle to mid-thigh tattoo prize. Giving everyone a birds eye view of her crutch, I was surprised my sister’s tat wasn’t elect chosen one after all that.

Pulling her jeans half way down Grandma biker showed us a graceful dragon wrapping it’s scaly body around the most beautiful, delicate yellow rose which was tattooed across the entire length of her ass. “Yes, ladies and gent’s Grandma biker is the WINNER!!!!!!!! Butt that’s only the beginning.”

Billy Gordon & The Blue Rockers took stage one last time freely giving to their biker brothers their final dose of rock n’ roll biker blues.

The turn out numbers for this annual event was greater than expected and that’s got to make the Irvine Lake Harley Bike Fest organizers very proud. Benefiting from proceeds was “Olive Crest Home for Abused Children” a non-profit organization.
