Sailors Bikers

Have you ever noticed that there's not much difference between the suntanned face and windblown hair of a biker and a sailor? The only real difference is the mode of transportation; be it bike and road or boat and water. The breeze feels the same, it all about the view.

Kemah offers an oasis on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. with the weekly sailboat races. Hop on your bike and come watch the sailors as they compete in a watery race against the clock and one another. You can pull up to any of the restaurants or bars along the Clear Lake shore who will be glad to provide you some fabulous seafood or liquid refreshments or you can ride to the east end of Clear Lake and enjoy the racing from the back of your bike.

The race begins and ends at the Seabrook Beach Club where bikini-clad beauties will bring your favorite whistle wetter as you sit on the patio and watch the race. Choose to watch the race from the Seabrook Beach Club pier and you can actually hear the crews talking as they speed past. It is a sight to behold when the brilliant colors of the spinnakers unfurl as the boats race downwind to the final horn blow at the finish line.

It ain't a bad way to spend a Wednesday evening. After all, it's all about the view.
