The town of Glendale Springs is the perfect place to get away from the demands of everyday existence. The mountain terrain and quiet slower paced-way of life could be just the atmosphere you are looking for to unwind and let everything go. The mountain air is sure to invigorate.

This bed and breakfast lodge is located at the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 256 in northwest North Carolina in Ashe County, thirty minutes from Boone, and three miles north of Glendale Springs and the Northwest Trading Post.

Sue & Jerry Davenport have their cabins arranged in duplex fashion, with a connecting door between the halves. Guests can rent either a half cabin, or a full cabin if needing two separate beds or more space than one side of the cabin provides.

The Mountain View Lodge has ten half cabins (or five full cabins), two lodges, and a queen suite. Prices vary from a half cabin costing $72.50 to a full cabin costing $125 per night. Cabin guests are welcomed to come to the lodge for breakfast, when available, for an additional fee. The Lodge rates include breakfast for two and cost $92.50, while the Queen Suite is $95.50 per night.

History buffs and art lovers will not be disappointed if they take time to explore local churches featuring Frescoes by Ben Long, the Ashe County Arts Council gallery, and the extensive genealogical collections at the local libraries. And for the treasure hunters, the opportunity to locate the next “Antiques Road Show” find is offered by the local antique shops, Farmers Market, and specialty boutiques.

For outdoor adventure, there is trout fishing in the mountain streams or hiking through one of the nearby parks such as Jeffries, Doughton, or Mt. Jefferson State Parks. New River State Park is a great place to visit for a peaceful day of canoeing or tubing down the river. In close proximity is also golfing and at certain times of the year, skiing. This area has several ski resorts that cater to people into winter sports. Just a little bit of everything.

After a day filled with exciting activities, settle in for a restful night at The Mountain View Lodge And Cabins. Take your boots off, pull up a log or two, prop up your feet and watch the world go by as well as the wild turkeys, deer, and all the other critters.

Enjoy the restful sounds of a night in the country.
