SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CAVE CREEK RED & WHITE NIGHT
(C)2000 BY Miss BB

The Steel Horse Saloon, 1766 West Bell Road, Phoenix, AZ, hosts a monthly event known locally as the “Support Your Local Cave Creek Red & White Night”. The event – held the last Wednesday evening of each month – according to one of the barmaids, “this Cave Creek support night has been happening for about a year and half now.” A great number of riders fly their colors proudly as they attend this event.

When I pulled up to the bar my belly was empty and my throat was parched. Phoenix, after all, isn’t the home to a rain forest. The Steel Horse soon solved both of these problems. Inside the bar I found the “Post Time” Steel Horse Restaurant, open seven days a week. Great food to tempt your palette – from finger foods to the houses specialty “The Great 10 Incher” awaits you. I decided to try the sampler plate. The menu says the deep fried mushrooms are magical, and they sure were. The magic continued with mozzarella sticks, popcorn chicken and a boatload of French fries. Naturally, when you have been in the heat and you are parched you are going to find something cold to go along with the food – and the “Steel Horse” does know how to get their drinks cold!

After stuffing myself like a calf being fattened up, I noticed a band had entered and was setting up. “The Belanger Brothers”, a well known favorite among the Phoenix biker community have been stringing it together for about the last thirty years. The Belanger Brothers are very active with the Cave Creek Chapter and
with the Phoenix and Mesa Chapters as well. They have entertained for all of the Red & White Support parties ever since they were patched, not only as the “Belanger Brothers” but going as far back as when they were the “Dirty Dozen”. The Belanger Brothers average around thirty to forty parties a year, and that is a tremendous show of support.

Kenny, the lead guitarist, and Gar Belanger, the bass player, came out jamming. Brothers standing side by side strumming their guitars together in sync – almost as if they were one. If you have ever seen ZZ Top in concert, that was what this kind of synchronization reminded me of. As Kenny’s hard playing magical fingers danced across his guitar it forced our bodies to sway with the rock n’ roll wave. “Oh Shit Gang Bang!” sprang out from Gar Belanger’s mouth as the brothers leaped into the call of the wild. Kenny moved across the stage with electrified energy as the brothers continued to bang out one song after another with no stopping in-between.

Mixing together Red & White and the sisters crammed the dance floor cranking up the heat a notch or two.

Leather intertwined with lace as the tempo changed from fast and hard to slow and soft. The music flowing from the speakers created so much emotion it elevate me to some mystic state of awesome power. Man, this was jamming!

Strolling over to take a peek at all the goodies laid out carefully by the Cave Creek Support Booth I figured I would just do a little ‘window-shopping’. No way could I pass up on this stuff – I was seduced into buying. A large variety of items were displayed from long to short sleeve t-shirts, shot glasses, beer mugs, support stickers and even Hell’s Angel’s own special fiery hot sauce! I was impressed with all the choices one had. Could anything could top all this? Oh yes. Ladies you can wear your very own Red & White support thong panties! YA BABY! What did I buy you wonder – only my panties know for sure.

It has been a very long time since enjoyed something this much – but, then again, how could I not? Surrounded by Red & White, their supporters, the Belanger Brothers rock n’ roll tunes and the Steel Horse Saloon’s warm embrace.

Don’t know when I will make it back to Phoenix but you can bet if it’s the last Wednesday of the month I will head straight for the Steel Horse Saloon.
