Colorful Cape Canaveral Cafe A Biker Favorite
You might expect to find some Indians in a restaurant in Florida – but will probably be expecting Seminoles, or maybe Cherokees – not motorcycles!
But that is exactly what you will find when you visit Daniel’s Cafe in Cape Cavaveral.
They are not a biker bar but they are motorcycle friendly. Bring the family to have a look at the antique Indian motorcycles on display – and check out the T-shirts for sale!
While at the café check out the classic side of our decor: They have two Antique Indian Motorcycles sitting in the dining room. What’s up with that? Well it’s rather simple. The Indian Motorcycles are owned by Jack & Karen Daniel (Mom & Pop).
Daniels Cafe also has a variety of T-shirts and Novelties for sale.
The Indian Motorcycles are not for sale but are on display at the Café, they hope you will enjoy seeing them.
Alan & Jack restored the 1946 Indian Chief about six years ago. Alan painted it a Candy Brandy Wine. The 1947 Indian Chief was restored while also building the Café and was finished shortly after the Café opened. It is painted a Candy Oriental Blue.
People ask if they ride them much, actually the 46′ has been to Daytona Beach several times along with rides around town. It’s been on display at the local Harley Davidson Dealership and in a couple of local shows. To tell you the truth we don’t get to ride them much right now. They’re just too busy with the café but every once in a while they take them out for a spin! They have a 1953 Indian that they are presently restoring, but it’s got a way to go.
History: Indian Motorcycles were built by the Indian Motorcycle Co. in Springfield, Massachusetts. The 1946 & 1947 are basically the same. Built with a two cylinder engine “V” type, “L” head, 74 cubic inch, air-cooled. Three speed transmission, double action Spring frame, hydraulic front fork. Three section saddle tanks, full skirted design front & rear. And a one-piece welded construction exhaust pipe & muffler and has a 61″ wheelbase.
Alan Says: “Pop and I restored the bikes and rather than letting them sit in a garage with a cover over them, we thought it would be great to make them part of the decor of the Café. This way lots of people get to enjoy them.”
If you have a chance to be in Florida and are near the ‘Cape’, drop by check out the Indians and enjoy some great food!
