FAMDAMILY M/C 3rd ANNUAL
“FOLEY HOUSE” TOY RUN

Who are the Famdamily M/C and what is the Foley House?
The Famdamily M/C is a drug and alcohol free family group of Brothers and Sisters with a love for the open road and wind in their face. They love the joy of riding and they share a fellowship of friendship with all other Motorcyclists.
The Foley House is a facility that provides Residential Substance Abuse Recovery Care for women and their children. Not only do the women receive counseling but so do their children. These young troubled women go through a drug rehab program to learn how to live in a world that is drug free for themselves and their kids. They learn how to become independent, to handle living on their own, to be good parents and are taught career skills that will one day provide them with full time jobs.
The Foley House is part of the Southern California’s Alcohol and Drug Program Inc. Though it is funded by the Government we all know how few dollars the Government provides to give the less fortunate a new chance at life. The Foley House is the last chance for these young women and their babies. Without the Famdamily M/C and your help these women would find themselves out on the street – or in jail. Their young children taken from their Mothers loving arms and placed in one foster home after another, with the likelihood that the cycle would only repeat itself for them and their children.
The Famdamily M/C Toy Run was a huge success. Organizers, who had expected around two hundred riders, were thankful when over three hundred bikes came rolling in.
Bikers came from all roads of life showing their support, donating toys and gifts and bringing happiness and love to those who thought they had none.
Bikes were decorated with ribbons and bells as red and green tinsel hung from their handlebars. An abundance of toys were everywhere – tied down, bungeed on, or strapped to the sissy bar toys. Large stuffed bears rode happily on the passenger seats of several bikes.
Children’s faces lit up as they heard the rumble up the road. They knew that Santa and his helpers soon would be here. Not in a sleigh sliding on the snow, but atop hogs, wearing leather, sporting beards and long hair and club colors. These kids were learning early that bikers are a generous bunch.
The leatherclad warriors rode in, wearing smiles and some even wearing a silly Santa hats on top of their helmets. They sat high and proud on their bikes – they knew they were making a difference to a lot of children. This would be the best Christmas many of these children would ever see.
The toys were piled into a fountain out front, creating a mountain of toys capped by a white Santa Bear.
The children ho’d and ahh’d and waited patiently for Biker Psycho Santa to appear. It wasn’t long before their eyes grew big as he rode into sight, wearing his red coat and boots, leather vest with the Famdamily M/C patch, cool sunglasses protecting him from the glare, gliding to a stop atop his trusty scoot. He handed out candy canes, hugs and cheer and happiness.
The adults enjoyed the chance to relax and have some great food while listening to the rhythm of blues provided by the “Blame It On Art” band.
Soon it was time. All the children gathered to the front of the line each wanting to be first to sit on Biker Santa’s lap and receive their toys. As the children enjoyed their visits with Santa Mistress Santa called out the raffle numbers for the many lucky winners.
All to soon it was over. The children had opened their gifts and were lost in their playtime of imagination. It was time to for the bikers to mount up until next year when they’ll do it all over again.
