The Bride Rode White
photo album
The police sirens were blasting. From my vantage point beside the bridge I could see a motorcycle coming my direction. The motorcycle was closely being closely followed by the police car.
We were expecting the bride to ride in on her bike. Was she trying to outrun the cops instead? This doesn’t look right.
As the bike got closer we could see that there were two cop cars – on in front and one behind. In the middle on the gleaming white Harley-Davidson was the bride, Debi, in full Bridal Dress.
Okay, she wasn’t outrunning the cops after all. This was rural Louisiana and they were giving her a police escort to her wedding (try to get service like that in a big city) what a neat thing for them to do!
We were in Belle River, Louisiana for a biker wedding. We had met a Brett and Debi at the ROTRally and they later emailed us and asked if we would like to come to Louisiana and cover their wedding for BikerTrash.
So here we were at the Spunky Monkey in Belle River. The location was idyllic. The Spunky Monkey is located right on the river – you can tie your boat up at the edge of their deck and come in to cool off. The place was packed with bikers and bikes. After all, this wedding included a bike show complete with trophies.
